Alright, I want to try something new. When I go through and reread my blog posts, (on the rare occasion) I find that sometimes I am being repetitive with my sentences. To combat this, and to possibly expand my vocabulary, I would like to try to write in the third person and see how that works out. Okay here goes nothing...
Newly single Kelsey has realized a couple of things...
- Her life is kind of boring during the week. There are a lot of things that she can do with her friends and family on the weekend, but during the week she is finding herself to be lonely and bored. Kelsey is getting settled into a nice little routine, but maybe it is time for her to get a hobby to put her spare time to good use instead of sleeping all of the time.
Social media is taking over her life. When she wakes up in the morning, during breaks and lunches at work, and when she goes to bed at night. These are all of the times when Kelsey is on her phone. Even sometimes while driving, although she knows how dangerous that is. Right now during the summer time it's not that big of a deal, especially since she does spend a lot of time talking to people through social media. But during school Kelsey does find herself being distracted by the many notifications she gets on a daily basis. (Okay maybe not thaaaaat many but you get the picture.) She is thinking about going on a social media cleanse during this next semester, though she is not sure how she will handle the withdrawal.
- Work, sleep, repeat. This is Kelsey's current routine during the week. Drink, sleep, repeat. This is her routine during the weekend. She is doing too much of both things, sleeping and drinking. It would be good for her to get into the habit of doing something productive and useful with her spare time away from work, and just sleeping the normal amount instead of 12 hours a day. Not good for the body and not good for the mind. If you sleep too much, it could either be a sign or a cause of depression and she definitely does not need help in that department.
Okay I hate writing in the third person. Maybe if I was writing a short story or a novel I would not mind it. I wonder if there is a writing workshop or something I could take to help me out a little. The problem is, I write the same way that I speak. This is a problem because I do not necessarily speak in proper sentences, and a lot of the time I speak in run on sentences. I have the knowledge and know how to expand my vocabulary but still I default to basic words and phrases which can become repetitive after awhile.
On to the next one!
P.S. I’m sorry about the inconsistency within the font size
