"I'm not a nerd, I'm just smarter than you"

I have survived the weekend as a PetSmart cashier! I must say that it's as easy as I expected, and I caught on easier than most.

Alright so today's topic is nerds brought to you by Alex #1. There are 2 types of nerds out there, that I'm familiar with. The book nerd, and the video game nerd. Now, I would classify myself as a book nerd even though I dabble in Minecraft and Gears of War. My boyfriend is definitely a video game nerd. The only books he reads are Star Wars books. Alex #2 is a Class 1 video nerd, meaning he likes video games on consoles. Whether its PlayStation or X-Box, he'll play it. A Class 2 video game nerd would be a person that likes Computer based video games. According to Alex #1 (I know, it's weird) she and her boy thats a friend play games such as World of Warcraft and something about Blizzards I think.

There are many many many games you can play online. Currently I am waiting for Alex #1 to
message me back so I can give you some examples. I supposed I could just google it but I was wanting to get first-hand nerd knowledge. According to google, games like World of Warcraft are massively multiplayer online role-playing game, or MMORPG. There's a game that I used to play in middle school with my friend but I just can't remember the name of it! Curse my crappy memory skills. If you want an extensive list of MMORPGs just go to wikipedia. Update: Alex #1 messaged me back, she said that they play Diablo, Hearthstone, Heroes of the Storm, and Overwatch.

A book nerd can be split up into genres. I prefer murder mystery, romance, or young adult, and I have been that way my whole life. Some genre examples include science fiction, non-fiction, action and adventure, satire, self-help, horror, etc. The book series I just finished up is the Fatal Series by Marie Force. It's a good one, that's for sure. If you like murder mystery romance with a strong female lead, I would definitely check it out. Another good series is the Dirty Series by Liliana Hart. Another murder mystery romance with a strong female lead. You see my pattern here? Of course there's the classics, and then the ever popular Harry Potter series, Hunger Games, Divergent, Mortal Instruments, the list is honestly endless.

It's 100% possible to be a different type of nerd, or more than 1 type of nerd. WAIT I REMEMBER THE NAME OF THE MMORPG I USED TO PLAY!!! It was called "Mabinogi." There, my mind is appeased now. It was seriously bugging me! Okay, back to the types of nerds. For example there's rock nerds, those sedimentary people who love all types of rocks. (ha-ha) There's music nerds, animal nerds, board game nerds, the possibilities are endless. How to be classified as a nerd is to be a subject matter expert. Basically, if you love something, and know everything there is to know about it, then you are a nerd.

Oh! I can't believe I almost forgot, but another important type of nerd is a card game nerd. Alex #2 is also a card game nerd. His cards of choice are Yu-Gi-Oh!, Pokemon, and football cards. According to him, he doesn't "play" he just collects. But there are a lot of tournaments for Magic: the gathering, Dungeons and Dragons, and much more.

Don't even get me started on geeks.

P.S. Alex #1 = girl Alex, Alex #2 = boyfriend Alex. The reason that girl friend Alex is #1 is because we have been friends (with one minor friendship break-up) for a really long time.

Ladies and Gentleman, my Alex #1 has brought to my attention more categories of nerds that I think you should know. First of all, a subcategory of the video game nerd is the Nintendo category. This includes anyone that loves loves loves Nintendo. Whether it's Super Nintendo or the Wii, Mario or Donkey Kong, and anything in between.

One type of nerd that I was not aware of is the phone game nerd. So this includes games such as Plants vs. Zombies, World of Goo, and Pokemon Go. Of course this type of nerd is pretty much the younger, more tech savvy crowd. Most phone app games are strategy.

Alex #1 seems to be a nerd nerd!
