Unsung heroes

There are many jobs out there that go unnoticed and unappreciated. It takes a lot of different gears to make a clock tick and without one of those gears the clock would not work properly. It works the same with these jobs.

The biggest one is a janitor. Who doesn't love someone that cleans up after you! Most janitors usually take the night shift, so you really never see them. The exception is school janitors, and to me they have the hardest of the janitorial jobs. High school students are messy and they just don't care. Everyone should respect janitors, because they really do the dirty work. How you treat those with lesser jobs says a lot about your character.

Garbage man. Their job stinks! (haha literally) Garbage men might not deal with people directly, but they deal with all of the things you throw away. Whether it's just bags, or whether it's other crap that you don't need any more like broken desks or dressers, etc. They haul it away, no matter how heavy or how dirty it may be.

Another underappreciated job is a mailman. You might harbor harsh feelings towards your mailman if you get a lot of bills in the mail. But you have to know that it's not your mailman's fault! Personally I have an addiction to online shopping so of course I lovvveee my mailman. In smaller towns it's pretty common to know your mailman. For example, my grandma and her mailwoman are on first name basis, and my grandma usually will wave or exchange a few words in the mornings.

Cashiers don't have a lot of responsibilities, but from personal experience they deal with the widest range of people. Since cashiers are face to face with a lot of people every day, they receive the worst end of the customer spectrum. Being honest here, the older the customer the meaner they generally are. I mean, literally all I do is ring up your items! You can't be mad at me for things beyond my control such as prices or the expiration date on your coupons.

In my opinion, any job that deals with customer service on a daily basis sucks sometimes. The customer is not always right, even if they believe differently. As a customer and a customer service worker you should aim to always give your best because you have been in their shoes, you know how they feel. Always remember the jobs that you'd never want, and make it a habit to thank the workers of those jobs. Spread kindness, because how you treat someone determines how they treat the next person, and so on. It's a never ending cycle.
