Today i'm going to mess around with fonts and colors and such. When I type I really want the reader to hear my sassy attitude or feel the emotion i'm pouring into the words. I'm still having an internal battle on whether or not I want the blog to be first person or third person. As an English major, it is my first instinct to forgo using "I, Me, My" but i'm a new blogger so for once i'm really unsure.
I think if I ever need to EMPHASIZE a point, or if I feel like YELLING through text (which I do a lot) then I will use the bold feature. Making the text look different, will not only keep readers engaged but it will really allow the tone of the writer to come through.
Being honest here, I don't really know what italics are used for. Maybe the are also used to make a point. Or for emphasis as well. I have a feeling that italics can be used sarcastically as well. An example, you don't neeeeed another slice of pizza. I think that looks a tad better than, you don't NEEEEED another slice of pizza.
I'm not used to writing so casually. My skills definitely need refined. I'm more used to writing research papers or papers containing facts. Writing about myself is something i'm definitely not good at. Pretty much if you have an extensive vocabulary then you're good.
One of the duties of a writer is to be able to spice up a sentence. Instead of saying the wall is blue, you say the accent wall of the beautifully decorated room is the color of the sky on a clear summer day. Something like that.
I know that including a picture is not required with every blog post. I get that, but when you're looking for a car to buy or a recipe to make, doesn't it help when a nice picture catches your eye?
