Oh happy days

Here I am in the lobby of Comcast frustratingly waiting for my turn in line. I have been battling them for weeks now to get Internet services at my apartment to no avail. The tenants before us decided to not pay their bills, thus causing a fraud block to be put on my apartment. Which is totally understandable on the business side of things.

What's frustrating me is that after multiple store visits and phone calls, nothing has been done about the fraud block. My boyfriend and I have given them a copy of our lease, bills in our names showing our address before and after we moved to Florida, and copies of our drivers licenses. I am cautiously optimistic that the matter will be resolved today. To make matters a tiny bit worse, when we first moved here our realtor tried to open the internet service for us, but thought Alex (my boyfriend) and I were married, so she opened it all under Alex Jones which is not even his name.

I have moved up in line and explained everything to this guy. He fed me the line that he was going to talk to his supervisor, so now I'm playing the waiting game yet again. Side note, Comcast seems to be very efficient in the way they handle customers. You walk in the store, type your name into a tablet that's set up at a kiosk, and take a seat while awaiting your name to be called.

They have 2 TVs, one broadcasting the local Florida news channel and other showing a waiting list of customers. It reminds me of the DMV in Wichita, Kansas. (But way less crowded).

All I can think about right now is the current book series that I am reading. The name of the series deemed by my mother and I is the Dirty series, since all of the titles have the word 'dirty' in them.

OKAY I interrupt my train of thought to bring you the verdict from Comcast worker Brandon! He just told me on the joyous Friday that I have to wait 2 business days for the hold to be lifted. Which is what I have been told from day one!!!! And believe me, I told Brandon as much. Then he informed me that the reason it wasn't put through the first time is because they were missing a page of my lease: the signature page. In my head I'm thinking, what the hell does that matter for? But being the polite person that I am, I put on my best customer service voice and advised him to contact me as soon as the hold is lifted, and if there are any other issues with the ticket. And that was AFTER giving him yet another copy of my lease, phone bill, and driver's license.

*Sigh* I hope Brandon from Comcast is as competent as he leads me to believe. Everything should be resolved by Tuesday but you bet your sweet ass I will be calling every damn day to make sure.

As a previous customer service representative, and a current customer, I am really trying to see both sides of the spectrum and not give Brandon from Comcast such a hard time. After all, it's really not his fault and I've been in his shoes before.

Crossing my fingers and toes that everything goes well. Back to my apartment I go, in utter defeat but hopeful nonetheless.

TTFN, ta ta for now
